Wedding Weekend: Going to the Chapel...

One of my fave enchanting shoots featuring Valerya by Amber Gray Brides Dec 2010 via here

Hello! How's your week going loves?!
This weekend I'm off to one of my best friends wedding and I cannot tell you how beyond excited I am! It also means a little trip back across the pond, a whirlwind visit to see family & friends.

I'm going to packing whatever free minutes and hours I have to get my missed hugs, (new) gossip, stroke my pregnant friends baby bumps, swap some good reads, get hits of any kind of food that I have missed before heading off to the wedding in country, yay!

I know I'm not the only one whose heart goes all gooey & swoons at everything on 'Style Me Pretty', oooh and all those gorgeous, dreamy wedding moodboards on Pinterest, right?

I realize that time is ticking and I haven't had the chance to focus on the 'me' prep yet as I've been running around doing other things, but at least I know what dress I'm wearing. Bizarrely enough, Refinery 29 came up with this inspiration for Wedding Guest outfit, which in the colour department (mint) is similar to mine, but the dress I have is a sheath style. The final decisions on accessorizing is a working progress, since I can't decide whether to go with silver or gold hues, so I'm going to have to be a ninja in the organized department when it comes to packing after work later.
(Talk about super early pre-weekend post!)

Wishing you all a happy Fairytale weekend!

My week as Gossip Girl Blair Waldorf, Well kinda

Hello loves, how's your week been? I can honestly say that 2012 is fast becoming one of the most happening years of my life - lots of weddings, babies and friends getting engaged! WOW!
Yup, I'm submerged in event heaven this year and this weekend I'll be off to a Christening and not actually working for once! So here's my life as Blair, in pictures, well... kind of....

I nipped out..., ok, sneaked out to go baby gift shopping and got heavily distracted by Zara, man alive they should bar me from that place! (I didn't come out looking like Blair with all her shopping bags though...) I've seen the gorgeous SS12 lookbook but it's not quite the same as going into a store, something which I haven't done in a while. Seriously I was blown away by the fresh palette for SS, it felt like my heart was having palpitations from having to contain my excitement at all the pretty, pretty things! No joke, I was like a child in a candy store, picking up and trying on everything (half the stuff in-store isn't even on the websites)!!! Crochet shorts, Chanel inspired boucle/ tweed jackets, sexy heels, fringed dip dye dress, dip hem chiffon dress, printed chiffon dress from the TRF range, mint one shoulder dress, cream tulle/broderie anglaise tee's... the list goes on! I was really good though and only made one purchase... Unbelievably right?!

I love this image of Leighton & Blake. I've been so busy lately that I've neglected time with my girls, so I cannot wait to so some coffee & cupcake catch up with my gal pals on the weekend.

The Gossip Girl Gang - it's one of my secret guilty pleasure watching this show!
I could so use some extended time to curl up in bed...but need to figure out what to wear for all these upcoming events! I guess that's the fun part (except for tidying & hanging up all the clothes again)!

Finally, Friday's wouldn't be the same with a little fun poster I found via Pinterest!

Wishing you all a wonderful and sparkly weekend! May it be filled with good times and happiness!

Romance, Ruffles & Love

I Luuuurve this look, wishing it were summer, like, now!

Lovelies, how did your week go? Mine was somewhat hectic, rushing around most days scrambling to complete projects and also the run up to Valentines day always seems to be that much more chaotic.
Have you all finished Valentines gift shopping? Or are any of you having anti-V day celebrations with your gal pals like the one hosted by Jessica Biel in Valentines Day? Me at this moment: picturing scene with Jennifer Garner smashing the hell outta that piñata! Whatever your plans are this weekend, I hope you have an amazing one!

This week I also attended MadWalk, a major Fashion & Music event hosted by Mad TV (like MTV for Greece) and Vodafone. Wow is all I can say... You'll catch some sneaky shots I shared on Twitter, but otherwise hold your horses fashion folk, I'll be sharing some of Greece's finest talent with you all very soon.
Oooh, almost forgot, I have a very exciting "I want this Job" installment coming your way soon too!

This weekend, whilst I'd like to be chilling because I'm exhausted (I know I sound like a 90-something year old granny), I'm on the hunt for some wedding shoes for one of my oldest friends in the world. She's after a pair of heels with a bit of a platform... Anyone have any great websites in mind (for UK preferrably/US/Greece) let me know!

I saw this room and fell in love, tres dreamy, no?

I hope you all have a great weekend, filled with nothing but LOVE, from moi!

Smooches.

Wedding Inspiration

I think it's been quite some time since I posted anything wedding related, and I know we're not exactly in wedding season, but I do love myself a winter wedding, especially a Greek one!
Tomorrow, we'll be throwing candy coloured rice and celebrating our dear friends wedding, I am so incredibly excited for them. Anyhoos, here's a mini wedding fix if you didn't get enough of it over the summer.

No wedding is complete with an awesome cake, I love this rose swirl cake, but it does look too pretty to eat!
There's something pretty cool and unexpected about having a fabulous lining in a big white dress

I'm in shoe heaven just looking at these!

I hope you've all had an amazing week, I guess we're kind of heading into the weekend now, so have a fantastic one luvvies!

Right now I can't decide whether to go for darker hues with plenty of shimmer and sparkles or to go for something with a mixture of colours... eek!

I'm sorry for my blogging absence, I've had a bit of a crazy week after getting poorly last weekend and trying to see everyone before I left the UK again... Then flying back last night and going straight to our friends 'Krevati' - a Greek pre-wedding ritual. I can't believe my time there felt so rushed, more on that another time though.

Kate Moss' Wedding Snaps!

This has to be the most epic weddings of the year, apart from the Royal Wedding of course, since it'll be well documented in US Vogue for their September issue. Can't wait!
Supermodel and rock chick Kate Moss wed rocker, Jamie Hince in the Cotswolds this afternoon in a John Galliano designed gown.
All I will say is Mossy looked super stunning in this vintage style cream dress and every inch a beautiful bride. (Don't cha just love the first snap shot?)

The dress was absolutely perfect for her, I didn't expect a big or Vera Wang style frock. The bias cut detail is such a Galliano signature...also loving the gold leaf detail and also the fine embroidery on the hem... sigh!

Such a beautiful veil, so dreamy no?

Jamie, Kate and her daughter, Lila - what a cutie!

The Facts:
  • Kate Moss' sress by Galliano
  • Shoes by Manolo Blahnik, with blue insole
  • Jamie Hince wore a Stefano Pilati suit by YSL
  • Stella McCartney designs 3 oufits for Mossy's first dance, after party and a going away outfit.
  • 14 young bridesmaids in the bridal party
  • Celebrity heavy guest list
  • Publid roads closed
  • Mario Testino -photographer
  • Loose waves created by Sam McKnight
  • Make-up by Charlotte Tilbury
Right lovelies, wishing you all a super sunny and amazing weekend!
Kalo Mina folks - Have a great month!

Blushing Brides: Fiction, Celebs & Red Carpet Inspiration

Princess Diana & Prince Charles (on left)
Grace Kelly (marrying Prince Rainier) in Helen Rose gown 1956

Today is the big day, for the Royal Family that is and oh, the whole of Britain. Apparently 2 billion will be watching the moment when Kate Middleton becomes a princess, yowsers!

Whilst I'm not as fascinated/crazy as others about the Royal Wedding, I am curious as to see what Kate will be wearing on her special day and if she is going to wear her hair down just as the media have been speculating. Hair up or down, I think she'll look amazing.
Plus, was that Sarah Burton (aka designer extraordinaire who has taken over Alexander McQueens label) sneaking into the The Goring Hotel yesterday afternoon? Who's making the dress? Well, we'll soon find out.

Anyhoos, I thought I'd share some snaps of stylish brides (some rather unconventional) from the past, with a little red carpet inspiration and movie wedding frocks thrown into the mix.

Wishing you all a Fabulous weekend! May the fashion force be with you!

Now, this is one wedding that will be in abundance of fashion bunnies! What will Kate wear now that she has ditched John Galliano? OR has she? Led Zeppelin and Rolling Stones to play at the wedding? Rock on girl!

Happy (Fairytale Wedding) Weekend!

October seems to be wedding fever fest as another of my oldest BFF's is getting married tomorrow, I am so incredibly excited for her and her man! I mean, imagine meeting someone when you're just a toddler...(they've known each other since the nursey!) and through the years you're just friends and then years down the line you get together and well, something extraordinary happens! Now they have their happily ever after!

There's also a little story that goes with the image above. Whilst at my parents place I've managed to dig up the December issue of Vogue, 2004 in my historic archive of magazines... It's official, I'm a hoarder!!! I still couldn't bring myself to part with my other decade+ old Vogue & Elle magazines, which are still mostly in pristine condition. I still have piles and piles of magazine such as SKY, (from almost 16 yrs ago - they were my brothers but I secretly stashed them away when he'd finished with them), NOVA, Flaunt, SCENE amongst weekend supplements such as the Sunday Times Style but these little treasures are sitting in boxes in a garage. These reads are my great love and my instant fashion fixes. Anyhow, I'll have to share the entire spread from that shoot (shot by the talented Tim Walker) in my next post, as it was amazing!!!

What about you? What do you secretly stash away?
Do you have any inspirational reads which you hold on for dear life? I used to tear the best bits out of magazines and file them accordingly too - Dresses, Tailoring, Shoes, Bags, Travel... back when I had too much time on my hands!

Falling in love with the gowns in this shoot!

Happy Weekend!

Yay! I'll be off to the Cotswolds for one of my dearest friends (BFF) wedding this weekend!
I'm so excited I'm lost for words! We've had some serious girl time this week, catching up over lots of indulging food (basically all the foods i've missed since moving to Greece), looking over a scrap book of old photos I'd pulled out over our 20 something years of being single together and including watching some random tv show called 'Bridezilla' - it was absolutely hilarious!!! Anyhow, I love this gal so much and I am so honoured to be doing hair, make up duties as well as a speech, yikes!!!
She's gonna be a super stunning bride, yay!!!!!

Have yourself an amazing, fun, fabulous and fashionable weekend my lovelies!
