Well hello luvvies! Do you ever wake up wondering where the past month went? I've been rushing about so much the past few weeks that I've only recently realised how summer has literally arrived in Athens in a big, gigantic el scorchio kind of way and I am yet to fully enjoy it.

I know I know, you're probably bored of seeing Kate Moss everywhere or that same look/pout that she pulls, but I do think she looks rather spectacular in the images i've seen so far for the June issue of British Vogue. Yup, I went kinda gooey at the sight of the old Hollywood glam style.
This will be Mossy's 32nd Vogue Cover  & she's graced one every year for British Vogue since 1993! It's not the first time that Kate has been shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot, their collaborations go way back... Let's take a trip down memory lane and see Moss do her thang & these guys show off their signature shooting & post production style.

So there was a darn good reason after all for moving to sunnier shores, and that is missing out on sub zero temperatures! Although I miss the snow and the thriving festive vibe that London oozes at this time of the year, I am super grateful that I for one am not seriously freezing (my a** off) like my pals are across the pond. Some are not even able to get to work due to being snowed in and a close friend of mine and her man had just moved into their new home and their boiler bust... I can only sympathize...

So how do the celebs brave the cold snap and stay stylish?

I love Elle's cool 'mum at school gate' chic, complete with over-sized leopard print bag, shades and a fur gilet, whilst Mossy looks fabulously glam in her maxi dress (is it knitted?) and fur number, red lips and glossy hair, Blake in GG gear, wrapped in this seasons Cape, Cameron D rocking casual cozy in quilted wedge boots, chunky knit scarf and woolly hat, way to go girl! Finally Sienna, I love her hotchpotch mixed up look, from fedora, hand-warmer to the clever layering. She looks cute.

I heart Vogue UK: The December Issues

I can't believe I'm thinking about Christmas already and it's not even Halloween yet! I'm just a wee bit excited as to the arrival of the December issue of UK Vogue hitting the news-stands next month. You see, as per my previous post, I have collected loads of Vogue & Elle magazines amongst others, since I fell in love with fashion and I just can't bear to part with most of them. I did a clear out before moving to Greece which has thinned the collection down significantly but I've held onto key months as they feature new collections and other amazing fashion goodness.

The December issues of Vogue in particular have a special place in my heart as they nearly always have the best front covers, with the most creative, spellbinding & magical fashion spreads ever - I mean I think they seriously blow the budget on these issues and literally go to town with everything including imagination & couture. Can you imagine what brain storming for the December issues must have been like? I also love their special features articles, Vogue's definitive X-mas gift list - although 99% of items are bloody expensive and luxury items, they are incredibly inspirational and the kind of things you splash out on when a good friend gets hitched, has babies, gets engaged or reaches a special age!
One of the best issues was the 2006 issue known as the 'Commemorative Issue', as Vogue celebrated 90 years! Refer to this article in the Independent for an interesting read and why Vogue is pretty special.

This is a totally separate issue but I remember at my previous job, we were discussing the future of traditional media & how it would eventually go IP/be online/digital with the disappearance of print media, something that will eventually be quite rare in say 10/15years time. Well, I sure hope not, Ok, I love how new media is so accessible and up-to-date, but I'm pretty sure that fashion/travel/food and some consumer categories will still have some kind of bias due to our love of colours/pictures-which is better than seeing it online/digitally. I mean can you image reading Vogue and it's glory online only?

Anyhow, moving on. As I said, I want to share with you all, one of the best fashion spreads from Vogue's December 2004 Issue. There are so many beautiful shots in the other issues and also another fave - 2008 issue, but this is one of my favourite's as it takes me onto a fantastic journey. I love everything here, from models/people casted, photography, back drops, fonts-another weird thing I love and the fashion! Enjoy!

Friday Round Up

First up, I'm a bit of a sucker for Gossip girl, Blake reminds me of a younger version of Cat Deeley (UK TV presenter gone Stateside, see below). In most behind the scenes shots, she's always laughing away and looks like oodles of fun to work with. I love her style on GG and she look terrific in this gorgeous shoot for Marie Claire UK, I love the lace frock especially!

Ok, so now for the supremely randomness I like to bring on in my posts... I was driving home yesterday and drove past a road close to my apartment and saw what I thought was a massive bump/rock in the middle of the road. Took a second glance and realised it was a turtle, a huge one! I parked up and went back to the road to see if it was still there and luckily it crawled to the corner of the pavement by then. I couldn't bear knowing that this little fella might be in danger of getting crushed by a car, so I picked it up and took it to a bit of grassy green for safety.

Last but not least, some serious Red Carpet fabulousness!

Kate Moss launches Topshop SS10 collection

The legendary supermodel revealed her new collection for Topshop last night with these stunning summery, soft images taken by Nick Knight (ps. I've loved his work since I bought my first copy of Elle). It looks like she's radiating from a big dollop of sunlight...(To recreate this look you'll need a mega massive Softbox - very bright back lighting and stand v. close against it - the closer you are, the softer the lighting plus glow effect, oh and of course the genius that is Photoshop).

I particularly like this leaf print dress, no doubt it'll be a bestseller, like most of Moss' dresses. The collection really epitomizes Kate's style, with silk boyfriend blazers, cute playsuits (some with a sexy edge), playful floral tea dresses, silk embroidered capes, a feather cape, delicate beading,lots of focus on floaty maxi dresses (Phillip Greene knows this is where the money's at, esp. with prices starting from £120), cute blouses, lace, velvet, suede and of course, denim.
