T-shirts - not just a humble wardrobe staple, you gotta love the versatility of such a basic item. So much so that I practically live in mine as part of my off-duty wardrobe. I also love that understated street chic can be achieved in minutes with a bit of effortless styling and accessorizing too. For glammed up look, think loose white tee teamed with a killer sequin skirt (see below!) - love the contrast of mixing simple and luxe, or a white tee paired with a hot pink pair of wide leg trousers and statement necklace by either Dannijo or Aurelie Biderman!

I already have an extensive collection of printed and plain tees, but am forever in search of the perfect tee. One that made in a good fabric, fits, hangs and sits nicely for my shape but is also comfortable and durable. I did a bit of a recce and came across these.

Bargain! Love the F21 basics, plus All Saints always produce the softest, gorgeous drapy tees!

I've always been a fan of American Vintage Tees via Revolve Clothing, as they hang really nicely, durability is a little so-so on tees made from different fabrics. The Alexander Wang Tee is a bargain at 35€ from 70 odd euros. Plus at the OUTNET always have many bargains on the t-shirt front so get shopping!

I gasped at the price tag of the T-shirts by Helmut Lang & the Olsen twin's brand, The Row. Seriously, how much? It's a bit of a stretch to most of our budgets for sure and although I might consider splurging on a silk blend, I sure would spend more that 40 odd quid at the very most for a good quality cut & fabric. So why is it so darn expensive? The Olsen twins have been very tight lipped about their resources, where they get everything made and who they deal with. However, I wonder if it's got anything to do with the how it's made "The secret, they say, is the French seam running down the back. 'It's cut from one piece of fabric,' explains Ashley, who is the older by a few minutes, and tends to take the lead when discussing business. 'It's about the drape and the fabric. And finding the balance between the two."

'It's made on a lingerie machine,' adds Mary-Kate, fingering the silky, diaphanous sample that is hanging on a rail behind us. 'A lot of thought has to go into it.'

Cuckoo for Cozy

So there was a darn good reason after all for moving to sunnier shores, and that is missing out on sub zero temperatures! Although I miss the snow and the thriving festive vibe that London oozes at this time of the year, I am super grateful that I for one am not seriously freezing (my a** off) like my pals are across the pond. Some are not even able to get to work due to being snowed in and a close friend of mine and her man had just moved into their new home and their boiler bust... I can only sympathize...

So how do the celebs brave the cold snap and stay stylish?

I love Elle's cool 'mum at school gate' chic, complete with over-sized leopard print bag, shades and a fur gilet, whilst Mossy looks fabulously glam in her maxi dress (is it knitted?) and fur number, red lips and glossy hair, Blake in GG gear, wrapped in this seasons Cape, Cameron D rocking casual cozy in quilted wedge boots, chunky knit scarf and woolly hat, way to go girl! Finally Sienna, I love her hotchpotch mixed up look, from fedora, hand-warmer to the clever layering. She looks cute.

Yup, I'm one of those gals, who like to take advantage of discounts when shopping, who wants to pay full price nowadays anyway?

The Outnet is celebrating their 1st birthday in a matter of weeks and they will be selling items for £1!!!! Yes, that's one whole pound and just a little over a one euro. So get signed up quick to RSVP which opens today!

I also picked up goodies online at HOF & Play.com last week and was delighted when Mama Brit Greek called to say my delivery had arrived including this book by Kelly Cutrone. I want to see what's going on inside that head of hers. She terrifies me to my bones. Actually she reminds me of a former boss, who of course was just trying to do their job properly, which meant screaming orders at the minions...and throwing tantrums when things go seriously wrong.

Before i completely forget, Dorothy Perkins have a got a whopping 25% discount - type in this code: DPVIPE when you're at the check out page. I've also dicovered that shipping to Europe doesn't cost an arm and a leg - £5 per product, which is quite reasonable, esp after the discount anyway! Shipping to the USA is £10 and takes around 5-7days which isn't too bad either.

So why am I buying from the UK/USA/anywhere but Greece these days? Athens is so friggin' expensive, that's why! I picked up Greek Elle the other day and flicked through their fashion pages for 'Fashion under 150 euros' and was a little disappointed. The pulls selected just didn't do anything for me (some pieces look dated) and i know it's Elle (who don't exactly do cheap frills) but still I could have pulled a better selection of clothes for their 'Cheap & Chic' story.

I do love the wedge heels, I already have a pair of cheapo heart shaped sunnies, thanks to the fab markets in Hong Kong circa 1989 and i already have some awesome striped tops from when Kookai reigned the UK high street.
