SUPER CHIC: TAKING A LEAF OUT OF OLIVIA PALERMO'S STYLE BIBLE

Happy Monday lovelies, I hope you all had a super weekend!
As it's Monday, I thought I'd leave you with some super chic style from Olivia Palermo, who does fall style effortlessly. You know, just in case you woke up this morning and had an 'I hate everything in my wardrobe' moment.

The Upper East side Socialite has been frequently spotted cleverly layering her favourite wardrobe pieces; shirts and poncho/boxy style jumpers, and an oversized fur gilet thrown over blazers & tweed jackets.
Since we know she always gets photographed styled to perfection (this girl just can't help it), I guess we ought to take note that the key essentials for this Winter's wardrobe is a handful of basics that you can re-work with other items in your wardrobe already finished off with a great bag.

Key OP Winter Pieces: Leather mix jacket, Tweed jacket, leather leggings (by Daryl K), Skinny jeans, Skinny flares, Over the knee boots in leather and suede, Black jumpers (Zadig & Voltaire). This girl has so many bags that I simply cannot keep up!

Love this cape/pocho shaped knitted jumper by Vince, with a shorter sleeve, there's room for layering over shirts or lighter pieces. I got really distracted & started oogling every bit of knitwear on Vince's site... so many gorgeous pieces!

OP at the Milk Studios in Tweed jacket and oversized Gilet and denim kick flares - What's not to love about this outfit. Love the play on textures!

Queen of black with an eclectic twist; leopard lace up booties & gorgeous bag. Adoring this leather contrast jacket.

Undeniably chic and total winner of an outfit. Everything about it rocks! A great coat and bag covers a multitude of sins and  looks great even if what you're wearing underneath is your PJ top! ;)

Hello chunky gold bracelet & khaki skinnies? I've seen you before many times and hello mega shopper! Looks familiar doesn't it??? I'll tell you where it's from if you don't know already. Olivia does highstreet and designer outfit mixes like no other.

You can get some really fantastic faux leather leggings and trousers at the moment, the Maison Martin Margiela at H& M pair are a real leather though. As much as I'd love to rock a pair, sadly I don't they'd look good on me, oh well a girl can dream!

Lusting After... Seductive Military Coats

I never tire of the military trend, but what I'm obsessing after right now are COATS! I love the full on adornement, clean lines and elaborate details. There's something about throwing on a double breasted coat (complete with ornate buttons) that makes any outfit ultra polished, maybe it's the silhouette!

Back in London, I know that Autumn has clearly made it's sultry appearance, it's also the time for kids to prep for Back-to-school, or for some us, getting virtuous all over again with re-invention, organising our closets, getting a new haircut, stocking up the fridge with healthy foods, signing up to a gym, eyeballing the sample sale sites & scoring some new stylish pieces for workwear or even working out your outfits for the front gates (if you're a yummy mummy in the UK or going to Fashion Week).

It's been an indecently long time since I kick-started September with a bang, I blame procrastination, but I'm going to start running again, coz it gives me an adrenaline buzz like no other. My friends will beg to differ, 'Why run? The only time when you need to run is for the bus, train or when you're late for work!' Anyhow, the evenings will get a lot cooler in the upcoming weeks, so at least I won't melt.

Inspirational seasonal shift: Autumnal flavours

We haven't even touched on the last days of summer and yet somehow I'm on a totally different vibe today. I blame the September Issues, magazines have gone into hyperdrive with the new season in a major way. Furthermore, autumnal looks have been easing their way into stores with mini transitional lines available on the high street now.

Tickling my fancy today and sucking me into the autumnal mood are the stunning AW11 press shots from River Island's Lookbook. Seriously, they've got it bang on trend, filtering all the hot looks from the catwalk. It's just a darn shame they don't deliver worldwide even though there are stores in Singapore, Turkey, Poland, Ireland, Netherlands and the Middle East.

Super glam maxi frocks in bold, brights - LOVE it!

River Island have come a long way in the past 5 years (not forgetting the former Chelsea Girl years), their accessories line (especially the bags) are simply to die for.
For quite some time the likes of asos, Topshop and even H&M (in the UK) have been the go to brands on the highstreet, but i'd say that River Island are really on top of their game right now and clearly in a league of their own.

There's a real mix of exciting trends coming through in their AW11 collection, I guess I might be tempted to hop on a plane back to London after all.

Belt up Baby! Save, Spend & Splurge!

I heart accessories in a big way, especially belts worn in multiples that also applies to watches worn in multiples - mixing metals with leather straps is something me likes. I love layering in fall, especially with the rather unpredictable weather of late, who knows if you'll be wearing a trench, cardi or cute printed frock? Belts are just one of those rather flexible items in the wardrobe, I have mixed chain belts worn as a chunky necklace and other belts worn cinched in at the waist or slung over the hips. How do you wear yours and do you have any favourites?

International high street giant NEXT: Hot picks

Ok, this International high street fashion chain used to dominate the high street for your core basics, work wear, home ware, great kidswear in the UK and had insane queues for their Boxing Day sales start at 6am. NEXT is one of those mega brands that was well known for everything else but fashion, but no more!

I was recently intrigued by Kirsty of, Fashion Champagne's obsession with all things NEXT, has it really changed so much, have they hired a new crew of designers or is the creative director trying something new? Well, whatever they're doing, it's pretty amazing and rather impressive.

Recently featured in Vogues promotional campaign (see below), their shots captured a much more fashion forward presentation of their A/W collection and hitting most key trends/looks from the catwalk.

So, whilst I have no qualms with the fabulous new look NEXT, I can't believe NEXT store's are everywhere world-wide, from New Zealand, USA and pretty much all continental European countries, through to the Middle East, Scandinavia, Russia, except in Greece.
What they do need to do is set up shop in Greece asap!

SUPERSIZE ME: WIDE LEG TROUSERS

Hey everyone, thanks for your patience and kind words, I've missed you all and am glad to be back! I cannot wait to see what you guys have been up to, so see you soon!


In the world of ever evolving and revolving fashion, I am extremely excited to say that our old friend, the wide leg trouser is back. I love wide legs and flared jeans, they're just so flattering - leg lengthening and bum minimalizing, so farewell skinnies and harem pants for now, supersize instead me baby!
I dug out some golden oldies I have in the wardrobe, the width of the hem on most of these measured on the flat is a whopping 12"!!!

High-waist styles are fab for soirees out and lady-like chic. This high waist corset number was something I scored in the sale at Karen Millen a couple of years ago... they were £130, but I picked them up with a 60% discount, don't cha just love a bargain?

Speaking of bargains, I saw these 70's style wide leg jeans at Zara yesterday from their premium brand, there were only 2 pairs left, I tried a pair on, they fitted, they're now mine for a bargain price of 10 euros! Who's a happy bunny? Moi!

I also love men's style tailoring, and these trews are from Topshop, a few years back, they're perfect for a relaxed day at the office.

These are an old pair of wide leg flares from Bershka... Goes with everything, love 'em!
