LIVIN' DOLL SOLE SENSATION: SOPHIA WEBSTER

Happy Monday loves! I hope you all had an amazing weekend! Thank you for all your wonderful birthday wishes & love, you guys rock! I had a lovely time, imagine copious amounts of cake & my fave - lemon tartlets and good company, I sure was a happy bunny!

As it's Monday, I thought I may as well kick off the week with a shoe post. Right now, I'm lusting over new it-girl shoe designer, Sophia Websters super fun, playful, bold and colourful designs. She's the hottest new name to rock out such an amazing first collection in New York, that US vogue insisted that they featured her designs before anyone else! Whoa!

If you take a peek at the designs, you may feel or sense some kind of familiarity, which I initially did too. Are these Nicholas Kirkwood designs? No. After finishing her degree at Cordwainers College, Sophia completed an MA at the Royal College of Art before landing a much coveted role with Nicholas for 2 years before launching her own line.
I just love the concept of 'Welcome to the Dollhouse' for her launch at LFW, the S/S13 collection that screams sexy, confident and fun. Inspired by Rio, she say's "Everyone paints their houses in mad bright pastels which inspired the colour palette," she explained. "I spent some time in Rio between factory visits and really loved it there. Even in the parts with the most extreme poverty the people and the landscape is so lively and colourful and I wanted to reflect that in the collection." (via Vogue.com)

I could definitely see Sophia teaming up with the likes of Sass & Bide in the future or even Peter Pilotto...
It's true, I'm in love with Sophia's creation, consisting of ruffles, bows, flamboyant prints and heels made with colourful shiny balls, I really wouldn't mind adding these ones (above & below) to my shoe collection, sigh...for now I'll just oogle them at Browns Fashion Net-a-Porter, Colette & Harvey Nichols.

Have a fantastic new week loves!

The Bride wore vintage & miu miu's

Hello everyone!

How's your week going? It feels like my life just fast forwarded in a nano-second and here I am back in super hot Athens! I honestly don't know where the past week went except that I had a total blast.
In a nutshell this was the news I received: Just landed in London - one of the BFF's water broke so our dinner plans together were scuppered, another BFF announced her pregnancy (I now have babies busting out from August, Oct, Nov & Dec - crikey!), my baby cousin (to me she's a baby anyway) announced her engagement (woohoo!) & erm... Oooh, I have a new haircut! Yup, I went for the chop and for two days, I experienced that weird phantom hair thing, particularly whenever I brushed my hair! Photos to share soon!
Just wanted to share a little snippet of what the bride wore... More to come loves!
Aren't these just to die for??? Remember Jo the Shoe Buyer/Designer from the I want this Job series? It was her fabulous wedding &  I wouldn't have expected anything less from her choice of footwear - the miu miu wedding heels rocked! She danced away all night in these beauties! Plus her dress was something else, Jo looked a vision of beauty in a lace vintage strapless gown.

I am slowly catching up on everything and yes, I realise I'm lagging massively in blogosphere, but I am still around. Have missed you guys & your inspiration in a mega way! Thanks for stopping by.

 via someecards

With July nearly upon us already & I can't help but ask myself where this year went or if my dreams/goals have been achieved or wondering if I could have done more, been more... It's just that in the past week I felt like I truly lived, maybe that's just London... It was frantic but in a good busy bee kinda way and I mananged to accomplish a lot in such a short space of time. So I find myself asking if I made the most of the past six months? What would I have done differently, changed or even improved? Do any of you ever feel like you've pushed the boundary hard enough or procrastinated til the very last moment because of fear? Lastly, I remember reading this somewhere and asked myself too: "When was the last time you did something for the very first time?'

Happy Feet: Mariettas Fantasy Sandal Collection 2012

Hot, sunny weather has been storming the shores of Greece for quite some time now, so it's only appropriate that I find some decent footwear that is not only comfortable but stylish. Note, I am a sucker for colour & detail or something dead simple, understated but stylish too - very contradictory (but yes I am that kinda girl, it's either all or nothing with me). I managed to discover the perfect amalgamation of all these things in Marietta's Fantasys new collection.

Let me introduce you to Greek beauty Marietta Chrousala, TV personality and model (who, believe me looks even more gorgeous in the flesh) whose collection was born out of reaction in not finding the ultimate pretty, comfortable sandal. Marietta ended up doing a bit of cratista by making her own leather sandal with the help of her uber crafty mum and together they created their very first pair of decorative sandals. When strangers stopped her in the street on numerous occasions to ask where they could buy a pair, she knew it was the moment to branch out & design a collection. It took about a year to complete the design process to actual launch of the collection via the online boutique and now she's considering plans to expand into the accessories area... you heard it here first loves!

Each pair have a slight heel and comfy non slip soles

Calling all cupcake lovers!

My faves - the black and nude patent leather thong with skull or crown motif - I think I want both, one for day and one for night!

Lots of hand-beaded colourful leather sandals

The majority of Marietta's collection leather sandal remind me of all things summery & happy; it's super girly, pretty, playful and colourful, with two gorgeous patent numbers, which I couldn't help but swoon over (see photos above). There are around 30 odd styles in the new collection, with new styles coming soon for high summer, all of which are handmade by Marietta and her mother and produced in Greece with slip resistant soles. Perfect for not wiping out on Athens dodgy pavements I say!
Lastly I adore the new pink & black zebra foldable flip flop - which you can sneak into your (teeny) bag if you're suffering from a spot of tired feet! For more information, please visit Marietta's Fantasy.

Thanks to Zoe, Aliki & Marietta for having me! It was so good seeing you beautiful ladies!

Fabulous Fridays

Well hey there loves, how was your week? Are you ready for the weekend? I have no idea where this past week or so went, except part of it was spent in bed and the rest playing catch up big time.
I wouldn't mind being teleported to Paris for a weekend break though. Just how gorgeous is that image (and the frock the model's wearing) above? No idea on who the photographer is or anything, but I love the mood of this shot.
The only thing that brightened up my week aside from the glorious weather we've been having was the delivery of my asos order! Yup, these puppies were extremely bargainous at £26 from £65! Now that's what I call a score ladies!

Oh Man, I love this site, it's the place where I can totally lose myself chuckling away... There are plenty of brilliant, funny & witty cards for every occasion and just about everyone. So, have any of you been to see the Hunger Games yet?

Hmmm, lemme think, I know which button I'd hit! Ha!

Wishing you guys a fabulous weekend!

Shiny New Studded love

Since I've been London - or Shopping Heaven, I've been trying so hard to not buy anything that I don't really need. It. Is. So. Hard!!!

Alejandro Ingelmo Thriller Booties £730

As you may know, Selfridges recently launched their Shoe Gallery - a place where I got seriously lost, lost into a deep, lusting trance enveloped in a journey into shoe paradise where all the seriously beautiful dreamy shoes are carefully stacked on velvet or glass, concrete or steel and even alabaster and silk displays. Divine!

Kurt Geiger Corso Heels - £220

I fell in love with some of Kurt Geiger's Fashionista collection and also Alejandro Ingelmo's shoes and boots! Anyhow, I think I did well walking away from such gorgeous things... until...

These babies caught my eye and I simply had to make a small naughty purchase whilst on Oxford Street. I love the studding details, the sparkly bits and the super cool Camilla Skovgaard's inspired serrated rubber sole - definitely essential when braving the dodgy pavements of Athens!
They're my new love, well at least for now!

I also did some experimenting and tried (being the operative word here), to do a cool purple manicure with gold tips, as per my post 'Nailing it' a while back. I didn't have any joy in finding the YSL Manucure range in the purple of gold anywhere, so I had to suffice with the bank friendly yet brilliant option of Barry M. Has anyone else tried doing their nails differently lately?

Have a rocking weekend!!!

Amethyst & Turquoise love

When i saw this image of SJP in a amethyst waterfall dress in Marie Claire Greece (sorry couldn't find the original source for better quality) my heart skipped a beat. I absolutely adore deep aubergine and plum shades with a pop of turquoise.

I found a much better example of Purple hues teamed with gorgeous turquoise accessories, as seen here on super babe, Cameron Diaz at the Costume Institute 2007.
Doesn't she look amazing?

Here are a few more bits 'n pieces i found online, which I also love

Clogs are back!

Chanel Clogs £850
Holy smokes! Clogs are back with a serious vengeance. I remember the last time they really took centre stage back around 2004 (I wasn't around in the 70's) with a less serious heel but they could either be worn as slingbacks or mules. It was the look at school and only the cool kids bought the more expensive version with chunky heel, studding with adjustable strap. What do you think? Love or hate 'em?
Miu Miu Clogs £285

John Rocha Clogs £450

Hooray for High-street: Jones Bootmaker Clogs £65

The cool cat: Kurt Geiger Clogs £220, these bad boys remind me of how much i'm still drooling over last seasons Prada studded sling back platforms, sigh...
